Cars damaged in Omagh arson attack

TWO cars have been damaged in an arson attack in Omagh this morning.

A fence and the front windows of a property in the Gortview Close area of Lisanelly, off the Gortin Road, were also damaged in the incident, which was reported to police at around 12.30am.

Sergeant Kilkey said, “We received a report that a black Renault Clio car parked in the driveway of a house in the area was on fire.

“A silver Volkswagen Polo which had been parked beside the vehicle was also damaged during the incident as well as a fence and the front windows of the property.

“Our colleagues in the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service were already in attendance and extinguished the fire.”

The officer said enquiries were continuing.

“Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 39 13/04/21.

“Alternatively, a report can be made using the online reporting form via www.psni.police.uk/makeareport. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org ,” the sergeant added.
