A POIGNANT ceremony has taken place to mark the 70th anniversary of the Omagh Rail Tragedy.
Relatives of the five men who were killed on November 24, 1950, were in attendance at the ceremony, which took place at a special memorial close to where the tragic incident happened.
The ceremony was led by Paddy Hunter of Omagh Heritage Forum and local musician, Shay Turbett, provided music.
Wreaths were laid by children and grandchildren of Dan and John McCrory, John Cleary, Charles Flanagan and John Cassidy who lost their lives that day.
It was the first time in 20 years that a service marking the tragedy has taken place.
