CORONAVIRUS: Mobile testing unit opens in Omagh

A MOBILE Covid-19 testing unit is currently sited in the grounds of the Tyrone and Fermanagh Hospital in Omagh, the Public Health Agency has confirmed.

The unit will be located in Omagh for the week ahead from 10.30am to 3.30pm every day.

Everyone aged five and over with symptoms can now get tested for COVID-19.

If you have symptoms, you can book a test through the online portal at http://www.nhs.uk/ask-for-a-coronavirus-test.

The mobile testing unit is in addition to three fixed sites at Belfast, Craigavon and Derry.

Welcoming the mobile unit to Omagh, West Tyrone MLA Catherine Kelly, of Sinn Fein, said she had strongly pressed the case for the facility along with her party colleague, Declan McAleer.

She said, “My constituency colleague Declan McAleer and I have been repeatedly pressing the case with the Health and Agriculture ministers for the provision of a mobile Covid-19 testing unit in Omagh and we are delighted to receive confirmation that this is now being actioned.”
