Covid-19: Four more people test positive

THERE were no new deaths related to Covid-19 in the North when the Department of Health (DoH) published its daily update today, but a further four people have tested positive for the virus.

According to the DoH statistics, no Covid-19 deaths had been reported in Northern Ireland in the 24 hours prior to 10am this morning. The department has recorded a total of 541 fatalities across the North so far during the pandemic.

Between June 13 and 14, a total of 720 individuals were tested for coronavirus, with four confirmed as positive.

There are currently a total of 38 Covid-19 inpatients in hospitals across Northern Ireland, with five of these being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).

The local statistics also reveal that there are active coronavirus outbreaks in 55 care homes around the North.
