Covid-19: Single death reported in the North

A SINGLE death related to Covid-19 in the North has been reported by the Department of Health (DoH) in its latest daily update for a second day in a row.

Eight more people in Northern Ireland have tested positive for the virus, according to the DoH statistics.

In the 24 hours prior to 10am this morning, one death related to Covid-19 occurred and was reported to the department.

It has now recorded a total of 543 fatalities across the North so far during the pandemic.

Between June 15 and 16, a total of 1,011 individuals were tested for coronavirus, with two confirmed as positive.

There are currently a total of 36 Covid-19 inpatients in hospitals across Northern Ireland, with three of these being treated in Intensive Care Units (ICUs).

The local statistics also reveal that there are active coronavirus outbreaks in 50 care homes around the North.
