A DEFIBRILLATOR has been stolen from Omagh town centre.
The life-saving equipment was taken from its container in the Townhall Square area at some time between midnight on Friday and 3.15pm yesterday (Monday).
PSNI Constable Thom said, “This type of equipment is used to benefit the wider public and fitted on an outside wall so that it can be used in an emergency.
“It is a vital piece of equipment that could mean the difference between life and death for someone.
“I would appeal to anyone who knows of the whereabouts of this defibrillator, or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area, or have information about the incident to contact police at Omagh on 101 quoting 584 of 18/05/20.”
The police officer added, “Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
