A TYRONE company is lighting up Belfast in honour of those frontline workers battling the coronavirus.
Galaxy Events Projection of Drumquin, have installed a spectacular display at the Ulster University, Belfast (York Street Campus) to highlight support for the NHS and its staff, which went live on Thursday night.
Speaking to the Tyrone Herald this week, Galaxy’s managing director, Brian McElhill explained that the projection will run each night until the crisis ends.
“We’ll be doing this until it’s all over,” Brian remarked.
“And it’ll run every night from 9pm until midnight, displaying different messages as things progress.”
Established in 2008, the parent company, Galaxy Facilities Management is today one of Northern Ireland’s leading contractors of mechanical and electrical services to the construction and commercial property management sectors.
A natural extension to its electrical contracting services, Galaxy Facilities Management also specialises in delivering complex festive lighting solutions and illuminated installations to town and city centres and large public spaces.
“It was our idea. We looked at different sites in the city… until we settled on this one,” Brian continued. “For us it’s just a way of putting something back into the community; we would do Belfast’s Christmas lights each year.
“It’s about lighting up an area in dark times and about promoting positivity.
“We are doing this free of charge as a way of showing our appreciation for the key workers and thanking them for all the hard work they’re doing.”
