Dungannon stabbing suspect released on bail

A 17-YEAR-OLD male who was arrested after a stabbing in Dungannon on Wednesday night has been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Police say a man aged in his 30s was attacked in the street by two males after he attempted to break up a fight between the pair in Lisnahull Gardens at around 10pm.

The man sustained a number of stab wounds to his foot as a result of the incident and required hospital treatment for his injuries.

The 17-year-old was arrested yesterday (Thursday) on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

In a statement released this morning, a PSNI spokesperson said the teenager had been released on bail, pending further enquiries.

Efforts are ongoing to identify the second male involved, who was described as being approximately 5’9” tall and wearing a black hooded top.
