Figures show no Tyrone covid-19 deaths in two weeks

NEW figures reveal that there are 431 cases of Covid-19 in Tyrone council areas but they have been no further deaths in a fortnight.

According to the latest figures released by the Department of Health, there has been no more Covid-19 deaths in the three council areas which cover Tyrone in the past two weeks.

So far, there has been 10 deaths in Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC), 20 deaths in Derry City and Strabane District Council (DCSDC) and 23 in Mid Ulster – a total of 53 deaths.

This figure is currently the same as of May 1, which shows there has been no further recorded deaths of coronavirus in the areas.

The number of cases continues to rise with four more cases recorded in FODC in the past week with 78 confirmed cases, while DCSDC has had seven more cases confirmed from 155 to 162.

Mid Ulster District Council has seen the biggest increase of cases in the past week with 32 new cases confirmed with the figure jumping from 159 to 191.

The lowest figures in the North remain in FODC while Belfast has the highest number of cases with 1,258 and 136 deaths.
