Strabane man Shea Kildea, who works at the five-star Lough Eske Castle Hotel, has been welcomed into an elite organisation which is only open to the best in the business.

Shea, who is a concierge at the Donegal Town hotel, proudly received his Les Clefs d’Or – translated as The Golden Keys – last month.

Easily identified by the golden crossed keys on their lapels, Les Clefs d’Or members are an elite group, globally connected, committed to professional development, and driven to set new standards for guest service perfection.

Shea is the only concierge in Donegal to be awarded with the prestigious accolade.

Before joining the five-star Lough Eske Castle seven years ago, he worked in several five-star properties throughout Ireland and the UK.

He strives to deliver exceptional service and experiences to each guest who visits Lough Eske Castle, with guests often remembering him long after their stay and looking forward to being welcomed by Shea upon their return.

Speaking about his achievement, Shea said “It is a privilege to work each day with the guests of Lough Eske Castle.

“I am lucky to be able to make Donegal an unforgettable experience for people from all over the world.

“To become a member of this esteemed association is an honour and I will strive to further develop my skills and knowledge in my role.”

General manager of Lough Eske Castle, Dónal Cox, was on hand to offer his congratulations.

He said: “It is a great honour for all of us to have a member or our team be part of the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or, the only member in County Donegal.

“Shea’s genuine desire and commitment to make each experience memorable, and his heartfelt connection with our guests, adds to the five-star experience at Lough Eske Castle.

“We’re incredibly proud of Shea’s achievement.”
