IT will come as little surprise to many that running powerhouse, Jill McCann absolutely smashed her gruelling 100-mile hill challenge at the weekend to raise money for a dementia charity.
Even though the Gallows Hill lady has always maintained that she ‘hates hills’, she finished her exhausting non-stop run up-and-down the gradient at the Sacred Heart College through the heat of day and cool of night feeling like ‘the luckiest girl alive’ – and at the time of going to print, she had successfully raised £810, and counting, for Dementia NI.
The trek, up the ‘mountain’, as she jokingly called it, was also particularly special for Jill for another reason: She was running in honour and in memory of her granny, Rose.
On an absolute high when she reached the finishing line after 100 miles of heat, sweat, and torture, Jill said that she couldn’t believe how much money had been raised for her chosen charity.
“I can’t thank you all enough for what you did for my chosen charity and I am definitely the luckiest girl in the world to have such good friends,” she said.
