Over 100,000 get COVID-19 tests in Tyrone council areas

MORE than 100,000 people have now been tested for coronavirus in the three Council areas covering Tyrone.
 
Figures from the Department for Health show that, as of midnight on October 27, 26,025 people had been tested in Fermanagh and Omagh, 35,376 in Mid-Ulster and 46,951 in Derry City and Strabane.
 
The number of positive cases in Derry City and Strabane, which has been the epicentre of the current second wave, have now dropped by 49 per-cent since local restrictions were introduced three weeks ago.
 
As of midnight on October 270, there were 106 new positive cases in Derry City and Strabane, 37 in Fermanagh and Omagh and 106 in Mid-Ulster. 
 
The number of positive cases now stands at 1351 in Fermanagh and Omagh, 3216 in Mid-Ulster and 5262 in Derry City and Strabane. 
 
Nine more deaths have been reported among those who had tested positive for the virus.
