A MAN and a woman had to be taken to hospital after they were assaulted in an alleyway in Gortin on Wednesday afternoon.
Shortly before 1pm, it was reported to police that the man and woman had been assaulted in an alleyway leading from Main Street.
Both attended hospital for treatment to their injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
A PSNI spokesperson said, “Four people were believed to be involved in the assault which spilled out onto the Main Street, with a man and a woman who are believed to be involved in the assault then leaving in a red car.”
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them at Omagh station on the non-emergency number 101, quoting 810 14/04/21.
The spokesperson added, “Alternatively, you can also submit a report online using the non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/. You can also provide information through the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
