Memorial walk raises more than £20,000 for Trócaire

A VERY special 12 mile memorial walk to honour the life of Mickey Bradley has raised £20,093 for Trócaire.

Organised by Mickey’s family, the trek saw rain lash down on Fr Eddie Gallagher and members of the Bradley family, as they diligently journeyed from St Patrick’s Church, Greencastle to Our Lady of the Wayside, Broughderg, and back again.

The late Mickey Bradley, whom many have described as ‘the salt of the earth’, and his beloved wife, Maria, had always planned to visit a developing country to help the most in need.

Fr Eddie, Greencastle Parish priest, said that the fantastic amount of money raised has been ‘overwhelming’.

“It is comforting to know just how much the late Mickey Bradley was loved,” he said.

“Thanks to everyone’s generosity, the money raised will go to people in developing countries in much need of our help and support during the Covid-19 crisis.

“Trócaire will now also be able to reach even more people with emergency food, water and health care.

“Many thanks again, and God bless you all.”

Mickey Bradley was a well-known and respected farmer who sadly passed away on September 14, 2018, after a very short illness.

Fr Eddie Gallagher, Maria Bradley, and all the Bradley family would like to express their sincerest thanks to everyone who has contributed so generously to the fundraiser.
