More than 100 rubbish bags lifted in Trillick

TRILLICK Community Group organized their annual ‘Live Here, Love Here’  Spring Clean Litter pick around the roads in the locality.

This year, they planned a Not So Big Spring Clean. In line with Covid-19 regulations, small family groups collected their litter picking equipment and then headed off to clean up their chosen road.

There was a massive turnout this year with 83 volunteers who covered a large area of rural roads and filled 108 bags of rubbish.

“A huge community effort from all concerned has made a huge difference to our local roads around Trillick and Kilskeery,” a spokesperson for the community group said.

“Thanks to Fermanagh and Omagh District Council (FODC), these volunteers are now able to apply for their own litter champion pack which includes a litter picker, a hi-vis vest, gloves, signs and litter bags, so they can carry on their good work,” the spokesperson added.

Anyone can apply to become a Volunteer Litter Champ. Get in touch with Trillick Community Group committee members for more information.
