AN Omagh man who has undertaken fund-raising running challenges has given out of care packages to staff working on the frontline of the Covid-19 fight.
Andy Campbell completed a half marathon and a further 29 mile challenge to raise funds to donate care packages to local health care workers.
So far, Andy has raised £1,160 and has donated packages to Omagh Ambulance Station and District nurses in Newtownstewart and Drumquin.
The care packages include a mixture of quick made food including pot noodles, porridge, tins of soup, biscuits, tea, coffee, water, diluting mineral and buns.
They also contain PPE including face shields, face masks, some gloves and sanitiser.
Speaking to the UlsterHerald, Andy said, “On Saturday, I ran a six hour challenge as part of the fund-raising in which I covered 29 miles.
“I got most of the items for the care packages myself with the help of others supplying me with the face masks and face shields.
“A few more presentations will take place over the next week or so, including to local nursing homes, Omagh district nurses, North West Caring and the COVID wards in SWAH and Altnagelvin.
“I just want to thank everyone for their support and donations to date.
I have raised £1,160 so far,” concluded Andy.
