One new Covid death in Tyrone council area

A FURTHER person has died from Covid-19 in the Mid Ulster District Council area.

Figures released this afternoon by the Department of Health show the number of deaths in Mid Ulster has increased by one, since yesterday’s update.

The number of deaths in the area increased from 29 to 30, while the number of confirmed cases also increased by one from 250 to 251.

In Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, there has been 10 deaths and 82 cases confirmed as the area continues to record the lowest number of cases and lowest number of deaths in the North.

In Derry City and Strabane District Council, there has been 21 deaths and 160 confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the outbreak.

Today’s DOH update revealed there have eight further Covid-19 related deaths in the north, bringing the total to 534.

Two of the deaths happened in the last 24 hours while the other six happened in previous weeks, going back to 24 April, and have now been attributed to Covid-19.

In the last 24 hours, eight people have tested positive for Covid-19 out of 888 individuals tested. It brings the total in Northern Ireland up to 4,740.
