POLICE say there has been an ‘increase’ in the number of burglaries and level of drug supply in the PSNI’s Fermanagh and Omagh region.
Police have blamed ‘organised crime groups’ for the recent upsurge in criminal activity.
The PSNI said they have been conducting ‘focused operations’ over recent days, specifically targeting the crime gangs responsible for an increase in burglaries and drug supply across the local area.
Some of the gangs are believed to be operating on both sides of the border.
“We understand the significant impact these particular crimes have on victims and the wider community,” said a PSNI spokesperson.
“In response, we have been working closely with our colleagues in An Garda Síochána, conducting joint checkpoints and sharing information.
“We are committed to using all available resources and partnerships to pursue these offenders and make our communities safer. Your vigilance helps – please report any suspicious activity immediately via 101, or always call 999 if a crime is in progress.”
