PUPILS from Sacred Heart College enjoyed a ‘down-day’ from online learning as part of Children’s Mental Health Week.
Each day last week, the Omagh school’s Positive Learning and Well-being Mentor posted messages on social media promoting positive mental health.
This culminated at the end of the week when the school asked pupils to take their ‘down-day’ from online learning.
It was aimed at allowing the pupils to focus on doing things that make them feel good, and perhaps using some ideas from the online posts such as going for a walk, baking or being creative.
“Promoting happiness is important for the whole school community. Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you have decided to look beyond the imperfections,” said a spokesperson for the school.
In addition to these efforts, the Sacred Heart College is stepping out again this month to raise the morale of the entire school community by staging its version of the trending ‘Jerusalema Dance’ challenge.
It will feature on the Sacred Heart College facebook page and school website in the coming weeks.
