A NUMBER of follow-up searches have taken place at a housing estate in Omagh after what is believed to have been a suspicious object was thrown at police.
The PSNI were in the area of Culmore Park again this morning. It follows an incident on Saturday, January 2, when police received an anonymous report that the suspicious object was thrown at a police vehicle.
A follow-up search was carried out, but nothing untoward was found and the PSNI returned to the area this morning (Tuesday) to continue their search.
Superintendent Alywin Barton, urged anyone who sees or finds any suspicious ibjects to not touch it, but call the PSNI immediately on 999.
West Tyrone MP, Orfhlaith Begley, urged residents in the Culmore Park area to be vigilant.
“The safety of residents in the area is paramount and I will be pressing the relevant authorities to ensure that all necessary precautions are taken.”
