EILISH Flanagan was in dominant form last Saturday when she claimed the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships women’s 3,000 metre steeplechase title.
The Gortin woman, who broke the NCAA Division two record and the Northern Ireland record over the distance just a few weeks earlier, wowed all who were in attendance in Allendale, Michigan, by taking the race from the start. She paced her away around the course and finished with a time of 9:57.44, 19.44 seconds faster than second place.
Another former Sacred Heart College pupil, Omagh’s Toni Moore, was also in the race, finishing 11th.
