Paddy Grogan Memorial Handball tournament this weekend

The Paddy Grogan Memorial will be hosted by Carrickmore Handball Club this weekend with twenty-four of the top juveniles in Ireland invited to compete in a novel team format.

A multitude of Irish and World champions will be on display in both Carrickmore and Breacach in what is the eighth edition of this highly prestigious invite only event.

Among them is the World 17&U champion Anthony Clifford from the Famous Talbot’s Inch club in Kilkenny, back for his second appearance at the tournament, fresh from claiming the All-Ireland Minor Title at the weekend.

Shea Munroe, who Clifford ousted last weekend, is one of the top local talents in action as Tyrone boast a strong cohort of elite juveniles taking part.

Aaron McElhone & Minnie McCallan (Carrickmore), Eolann Kelly & Micheal McCrystal (Loughmacrory), Emma Conway & Mary Jo Morris (Greencastle), and Tiarnan Kelly (Breacach) are all well worthy of their invite to the top table and will be keen to showcase their skills to the home support.

The traditional Handball strongholds of Kilkenny, Clare & Galway are also well represented this weekend, with Wexford, Roscommon, Monaghan making up the seven counties represented.
