Property searched in Dungannon in New IRA probe

A search has been carried out in Dungannon on Thursday, by police officers investigating the New IRA.

In a statement, Crime Operations assistant Chief Constable Barbara Gray said,Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit have today (Thursday) searched properties at four locations in Belfast, Dungannon, Newry, and Derry/Londonderry in connection with an ongoing investigation into the activities of the New IRA.

“The properties were searched under TACT legislation as part of Operation Arbacia, a community safety operation.”

It comes just weeks after a number of arrests were made in connection with the East Tyrone New IRA.
