THE police have confirmed that they are no longer looking for missing Strabane man Michael McGinty as a search party has found his body.
The PSNI said, “Police are no longer looking for missing person Michael McGinty. Thank you to everyone who helped throughout the week.”
West Tyrone MLA Daniel McCrossan said that Strabane had seen ‘another young life lost in tragic circumstances.’
Mr Mcrossan said, “This afternoon another family in our town have been given some very difficult news.
“Please keep the McGinty family in your prayers in the coming days and weeks ahead.
“A hugely difficult and heartbreaking situation.”
Sinn Fein MLA Maliosa McHugh said, “My thoughts and prayers this evening are with the family and friends of Michael Mc Ginty.
“My thanks to the search and rescue services who worked tirelessly over the course of the last week and to all those who volunteered to assist. The local community is forever grateful for the work that you do.”
