Motor vehicle run to commemorate life of Michael Haughey

THE Haughey family have organised a motor run to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their beloved son and sibling, Michael, and to raise money for the mental health charity, Zest.

Michael, who 20 years ago died aged just 27, was a Carrickmore man, so, fittingly, the tractor, lorry and car run will begin at his local GAA ground, St Colmcille’s, at 2.30pm on Sunday, July 17.

Michael’s family and friends are hoping for forgiving weather on the day so the maximum number of people are enticed to come along, thereby raising the biggest sum possible for Zest, which will go towards enabling them to continue providing invaluable support throughout our communities.

Each vehicle which enters the run must pay the small fee of £20 to enter, and additional donations can also be made on the day.

And, for anyone who fancies staying around for a chat and a cup of tea afterwards, refreshments will be provided when the convoy, returning from Pomeroy, arrive through the gates of St Colmcille’s GAC.
