Health Trust to launch new digital system for patients

THE Western Health and Social Care Trust (WHSCT) is set to launch a new digital system to transform care services.

Next week (May 8), the Trust plans to launch ‘Encompass,’ which is described as a cutting-edge digital system that will revolutionise the way health and care services are delivered across the district.

Speaking about the launch of Encompass on Thursday (April 24), Neil Guckian, Western Trust chief executive, said that the new scheme is a ‘major milestone’ for the Trust.

“We’re now just 15 days away from going live with Encompass.

“Recently we had our final readiness assessment and that went really well,” he added.

“I want to thank all of our staff for all the preparations they’ve done, whilst also continuing services over the last year.”

He continued, “With Encompass, we’ll have a single, secure electronic record for every patient and client, and that will transform the communication between our teams, but more importantly, the quality and safety of the care we deliver everyday.

“This is a major milestone for the Trust. It is one of the biggest implimentations in the history of Northern Ireland.

“I want to thank everyone involved in this implimentation.

“I also want to thank patients and our communities for the support that they’ve given now, and particularly in the first few weeks of the implementation.”
