FOUR local groups have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to community life and the environment.
Omagh Men’s Shed, Trillick Community Group, Dromore 2000, and Dromore Health and Wellbeing Group were celebrated at a special reception hosted by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council in Omagh for their success in the recent ‘Live Here Love Here Community Awards’.
Omagh Men’s Shed won the Fermanagh and Omagh Regional Champions Award for their project with St Conor’s Primary School, transforming school grounds with raised beds, sensory gardens and mud kitchens.
Trillick Community Group were runners-up in the same category, recognised for their ongoing gardening projects, clean-ups and village renewal efforts, which have brought together residents of all ages.
Meanwhile, Dromore 2000 and Dromore Health and Wellbeing Group received the Runner-Up in the Lasting Contribution Award, supported by DAERA, for over 26 years of work including a pollinator garden, annual Big Spring Clean and village planting.
