RESIDENTS of housing estates across Strabane and surrounding areas are being urged to take part in a charity dance challenge.
Each estate is being urged to perform a socially distanced Jerusalema dance and record their efforts, which will then be judged and the best performers declared as winners.
One of the organisers explained, “Barry Lafferty from Clady Community Group came up with the idea and challenged all housing estates in Strabane and surrounding areas to take part. All money raised from this challenge is going to the Nurses’ Comfort Fund at Altnagelvin Hospital.
“So far people have taken to the streets and are out practicing hard, whilst socially distancing, and the Mayor has kindly agreed to be the judge of this challenge.
“We are all looking forward to our videos being uploaded onto facebook on April 11 for the mayor to judge.”
Any local estates or business that wish to take part should either contact Barry Lafferty, Teresa Quigg or Roisin McGlinchey.
