CHURCHES across Dungannon and south Tyrone have some wonderful Christmas cribs on display depicting the famous nativity scene central to the Christian faith.

With ongoing concerns over Covid 19 and the new variant, many parishioners may not be able to attend this year’s Christmas services, while for those who do attend, numbers will be limited.
To reflect the true meaning of Christmas, the Herald photographer Ian Magennis captured these images of the cribs which bring comfort and light at this time of year.
Meanwhile, Dungannon parish priest, Dean Kevin Donaghy sent a special message to all parishioners as they prepare for Christmas.
Writing in this week’s parish bulletin, Dean Donaghy said, “May your hearts be lifted in praise this Christmas for the wonderful gift of Jesus and the joy he brings to our lives. May his love surround you and your families at this special time and throughout the coming year.

“May you be filled with the wonder of Mary, the obedience of Joseph, the joy of the angels, the eagerness of the shepherds, the determination of the magi, and the peace of the Christ child. Almighty God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit bless you now and forever.”
