The organising and planning is finished and the wedding day is here. Everything went pretty much to your expectations and you’re both looking forward to a well-earned rest, and along comes another well intentioned advice giver.
Just put your feet up – this won’t take long and will, I hope, be helpful as well as make you smile.
The first year of marriage can be unsettling. No matter how long you’ve known each other or been together, something indefinable shifts when you get married. Here is some advice both serious and humorous which you may find useful.

Try to have a weekly date night: Time is currency in a relationship so invest time in your marriage.

Or better still, turned off during your together time.

It is usually partners being strong for each other when the other one is feeling weak.
Prioritise What Happens In The Bedroom
Sex alone does not build a strong marriage but its nearly impossible to build a strong marriage without it.
Give Your Best To Each Other
…Not whats left over having given your best to others. Remember, a marriage is 100/100 not 50/50. Divorce is 50/50.
Don’t Compare Your Life And Marriage To Other People’s
Always remember yours in unique.
Never Keep Secrets From Each Other Or Lie
Secrets and lies break down intimacy and trust which are the foundation of a strong marriage.
Be Your Spouse’s Biggest Fan, Not Their Biggest Critic
Be the one to wipe away any tears and not the one who causes them.
Remember That ‘A Perfect Marriage’ Is Two Imperfect People Who Will Not Give Up On Each Other
Five Magic Words For A Successful Marriage: “Im sorry, it’s my fault”
Finally, something to make us smile…
Never laugh at your wife’s choices because you’re one of them.
Two things are necessary to keep your wife happy – first, let her think she’s having her own way and second, let her have it.
