A purr-fect present for animal lovers

Grovehill Animal Trust’s brand new calendar for 2021 is a celebration of hope for every animal that was once homeless – and perhaps a reminder that good things do come in time.

This is because, for every month of the 2021 year, the Sixmilecross charity’s calendar features an animal that once was unloved, feral or overlooked, and is now living a new life with humans that care for them deeply.

What’s more, is that all proceeds raised from purchases of the calendar will help the animal shelter look after the homeless animals currently residing in the shelter – something that Janice Porter, chairperson of Grovehill says is more important now than ever, since the loving charity has struggled greatly financially since the worldwide outbreak of Covid-19.

“The calendar is a wonderful celebration as every animal feature is now living in their forever home after being rescued by the charity,” Janice smiled. “But this year, in particular, has been exceptionally difficult, as fundraising has been stopped due to Covid-19.

“So the calendar is also a vital way of raising funds to enable the shelter to continue its vital work.

“As a small, local, and independent charity, Grovehill relies on the kindness and generosity of the general public in supporting us,” Janice added. “And we’re especially proud of this calendar as it is the tenth production.”

Echoing these sentiments, shelter co-ordinator, Richard Robinson, expressed this thanks to everyone who purchases a Grovehill calendar, and added that it would make a fantastic Christmas present for all animal lovers out there… Especially those who are big dog and cat fans!

“We are very grateful for the support that we receive from our local community as without it we couldn’t continue to rescue and rehome unwanted cats and dogs from Omagh and the surrounding area,” he said. “Our Grovehill calendar is reasonably priced at £5, and would make a lovely Christmas present. Every penny raised from the sale of the calendar goes directly to looking after the animals in our care.”
