LOCAL business Euro Auctions is currently celebrating its silver anniversary following an impressive 25 years in business.
Founded in Dromore by Derek Keys and his brothers, their very first sale took place in March 1998 and is still very much a family run business to this day.
Tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday, Euro Auctions is holding a two-day heavy plant and machinery auction which is bound to generate large crowd to its Dromore site.

Hosting roughly 60 major heavy construction machinery auctions every year throughout six countries, four continents and selling over 100,000 pieces of equipment annually, Euro Auctions opened a second site in 2000 just outside of Leeds in England.
And the local firm is showing no signs of slowing down, having expanded as far as Germany, Spain, Australia, USA, Dubai and Hong Kong since, with plans to launch in Abu Dhabi this year.
In 2017, they acquired American auctioneers Yoder & Frey and expanded their location in Leeds to become the largest permanent auction site for construction and agricultural machinery in Europe, spreading over an impressive 85+ aces, selling over 6,000 pieces of heavy machinery at each sale.
Founder Derek Keys explains the key elements to the success of Euro Auctions, stating, “There is no single ingredient that has contributed to the success of the business, as it has been a combination of many things.
“A lot of hard work is the foundation, we have a fantastic team that can go anywhere in the world and conduct a sale, and we have invested in those people and allowed them to flourish.
“There is no sale without stock, so we need consignors and in the industry we have a good reputation for being fair and treating our consignors well.
“In turn, they trust us to get the best price for their equipment.”

With 25 years of honest, hard work and great success under his belt, Derek concludes, “Today we are still a family business and family values are important to us all, which in turn, I think sets us above our peers.”
