Customers ‘over the moon’ to get back into the chair

Nail salons also opened up on Friday, with smiling owners and customers delighted to be back in their chairs.

Csilla Domokos, proprietor of C S Nails on the Mountjoy Road in Omagh, said she had missed coming to work every day and seeing her clients.

“We are really happy and our clients are really happy as well. The last four months were difficult,” Csilla said.

“I really missed my clients and my colleagues and I’m just so happy to be back to doing what I love to do.”

Patricia Duffy from Omagh was one of the first customers in through the door at C S Nails, and added that she was “over the moon” to be able to get back into the salon again.

“Csilla takes every precaution to protect herself and her clients.

“I am over the moon – it’s the small things in life.

“My daughter is in England in university and I can’t get seeing her, so things have been tough. It’s nice to get some sort of normality, even if it is just your nails.

“It’s good to see a wee bit of buzz about the town as well.”

West Tyrone MLA Nicola Brogan welcomed the opening of close-contact services, although she said it would be a few days before her turn.

“Today is a great day. I am delighted to see the buzz and positivity for the reopening of businesses such as hairdressers and beauticians,” the MLA said.

“I have to wait a few more days before I am seated in my hairdressers chair but I am excited to be able to catch up.

“I am also mindful that over the course of the last year, through the ups and downs, many things have changed. We have lost loved ones, lost jobs, endured changed circumstances but the return to some kind of normality is exciting and I’m sure all those businesses reopening today are all geared up and ready to go.”
