TWO men used a tractor and a low loader to steal a digger in Strabane.
Details of the theft were revealed by police as they made an appeal for the public’s help in the catching the culprits.
The digger was taken from a yard in the Newton Place area of Strabane on Wednesday, September 23.
“Sometime between 6.30pm and 7pm it was reported that entry had been gained to a yard and an orange/dark red Hitachi 135 digger stolen,” said a PSNI spokesperson.
“It’s believed that two male suspects used a red Massy Ferguson tractor and a red low loader to remove the digger before travelling along Railway Street and then onto Lifford Bridge in the direction of Lifford, Co Donegal.
“Enquiries are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident or any suspicious vehicles travelling along the direction of travel mentioned, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 416 24/09/20.”
