Dillan impresses on Children in Need

WITH a beautiful voice and talent in abundance, Dillan McGirr enjoyed the experience of a lifetime recently when he performed on Children in Need.

The St Lawrence’s Primary School, Fintona pupil was one of only five children in the whole of the North to be involved in the amazing performance, which saw a choir of young singers across the UK performing an emotional rendition of ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay on BBC One.

Eileen Brogan from Fintona said that Dillan, a member of the award-winning St Lawrence’s Primary School choir, was ‘delighted’ to represent his school on the programme.

“The entire experience is something he will never forget,” she said.

“Dillan enjoys his singing very much, and he was delighted to be involved.

“He worked diligently, practising independently and remotely.

“He turned up for every extra online rehearsal, and took on board all of the advice from everyone involved.

“The charity does so much for children all over the UK, and what an honour it was to be part of this great fundraiser, who were also celebrating the 40 year anniversary of the show.”

Dillan, who certainly has a bright musical future ahead, is currently working hard to complete his classical music grades under the direction of his singing teacher, Paula Daly, from Omagh.
