Donaghmore woman ‘didn’t die from coronavirus’

A TYRONE woman has spoken out after Covid-19 was listed among the causes of death for their mother despite her having previously tested negative for the virus just days before.

Caroline McGeary (62) from Donaghmore had a number of serious underlying conditions when she died at Craigavon Hospital last month.

Mrs McGeary’s daughter, Kelly, said she was ‘”maddened and upset” by what had happened.

“I know for a fact that my mother did not have Covid-19, and the doctors told me that she tested negative after going into hospital. My question is: How did they know it was Covid if they didn’t then carry out an autopsy?” she said.

The Southern Trust said it could not and would not comment on individual cases.
