A GUN has been found in Cookstown during a search related to the New IRA.
A PSNI spokesperson said, “Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit on Tuesday, December 8 conducted a search of land at Baladoogh Lane Cookstown.
“As a result of this search, a firearm has been recovered. Today’s (Tuesday) action is part of an ongoing investigation into the activities of the New IRA.”

Mid Ulster MLA Keith Buchanan welcomed the discovery and said the police have helped ‘safeguard lives’.
