THE Gardaí are renewing their appeal for information from Tyrone All Ireland final spectators who may have witnessed a fatal road collision in Co Louth.
The collision occurred between a motorcycle and a car on the N2 in the vicinity of Dooley’s Pub and Restaurant in Edmonstown on September 11, shortly before 8:30pm.
The motorcyclist, a man in his early 20s, received critical injuries and passed away on September 13, 2021.
A spokesperson for the Gardaí said, “Saturday September 11, 2021 was the same day as the All Ireland football final between Mayo and Tyrone and it is likely that many Tyrone spectators would have been using the N2 returning from the game.”
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was travelling on the N2 on Saturday September 11, 2021 between 8pm and 8:30pm and who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
In particular they are would like to speak to any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam footage, covering the N2 near Dooley’s Pub and Restaurant between 8pm and 8:30pm to make this available to Gardaí.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact Ardee Garda Station on +365 0416853222, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station quoting the reference: PR16425/2021.
