THERE were smiles and cheers… and well, bare feet!… during the weekend’s charity ‘Barefoot Magical Mile Run’, which boasted a fantastic attendance of enthusiastic runners and walkers.
Organised by Chris Gallagher, all proceeds from the successful event will be donated to Omagh Dementia Group, which is a cause close to the Omagh man’s heart for personal reasons.
To make the occasion even more special, Chris’ mum, Catherine Gallagher, was also celebrating her 69th birthday, and she and lifted the ‘Spirit of the event’ award on the day.
“From the bottom of my mum’s and our family’s heart, I wish to say a massive hearty thank you to all for taking part,” he said. “I also wish to thank all who supported the event, or helped out, in any way.
“We raised £575 on the day, which was fantastic.
“It really made mum’s birthday.”
