A 32-year-old man has been charged by police after a large quantity of Class A drugs were found following a police chase in the Ballygawley area.
The man was arrested after being found in a farmyard as police pursued the vehicle by car and helicopter. Police reported the driver had attempted to run over an officer, before making his way up the A4 towards Dungannon.
The accused is to be charged with multiple driving-related offences, including dangerous and driving and driving with excess alcohol in breath.
“Police have charged a 32-year-old man with a number of driving-related offences, including dangerous driving and driving with excess alcohol in breath,” the PSNI said.
“The man is scheduled to appear before Enniskillen Magistrates Court today (Monday, 29th March). “
“As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
“The charges follow an incident in Ballygawley on Saturday morning (27th March) during which a police vehicle was damaged and a police officer was injured.”
