MULTIPLE groups are to take part in a march and vigil in Strabane this weekend to show their support for the Palestinian people.
BDS Strabane and Strabane are Palestine are inviting people to join the ‘March Against Genocide Complicity’ organised for Saturday at 2pm.
The march will leave from the Gaza Mural at Springhill Park and will make its way through the town centre up to the Tinnies’.
Invited speakers are scheduled to speak at the Tinnies’ with music included as well on the day.
The speakers include members of Strabane are Palestine, Derry Trade Unions and a Palestinian member of the Inishowen Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.
A spokesperson for BDS Strabane said,
“The March Against Genocide Complicity has been organised to mark what will be almost an entire year of genocide that has been persecuted by the Israeli state against innocent Palestinian men, women and children in Gaza.
“Since October, 7 last Israel has carried out a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing against the population of Gaza, committing countless war crimes and mass atrocities
that some have called a campaign of extermination.”
They added, “Please join us on the September, 21 and stand on the right side of history, stand against genocide and stand for the basic human rights of every Palestinian man, women and child.
“This fight isn’t over and it needs your support, the people of Palestine need your support.”
