A MOBILE vaccine clinic will be held in the Alley Theatre on Tuesday, July 20. Confirmation of the news came this week from the chief executive of the Western Trust, Neil Guckian. The clinic will run from 4-8pm.
He explained, “There is a great deal of concern about the spread of the delta variant, and it is important we ask people to come for their vaccination and use the additional access we will give in this final phase.
“We also want to ask that people complete their vaccination, by receiving their second dose appointment, or if they have missed that appointment, coming to one of our centres with their ID and vaccination card, and we will make sure they get their second dose.”
Welcoming the news Sinn Féin MLA Maolíosa McHugh said, “Constituents had been in contact about there having been no local venue announced in the role out of mobile clinics and I wrote to express these concerns to the Trust chief executive.
“Hopefully the pending siting of a clinic at the Alley Theatre will ensure greater accessibility to the vaccine for local people and crucially encourage younger age groups to avail of the vaccine which will be key in trying to escaping the severity of any new waves or new variants.”
