New play equipment installed in Augher after big investment
CHILDREN and leaders at a cross-community playgroup based in Augher are delighted with new play equipment that has been secured after a long-awaited investment.
Woodland Adventure Group purchased the two pieces of equipment from Play and Leisure Services. This was the result of extensive fundraising efforts and several grant applications over the last number of years.
Playgroup leader, Roisin McGovern thanked everyone involved with the group for all their hard work in running these fundraising events.
She said, “In particular, we would like to thank Roisin McCann who did a lot of work to secure funding for this project. We would also like to thank our parents who have supported all our events over the last number of years. This wouldn’t have been possible without you.”
The playgroup leader added, “This year it was confirmed that enough funding had been secured and the extensive playground restoration could proceed.”
Woodland Adventure Playgroup, run by the Acorn Women’s Group, provide a playgroup for children aged three to four-years-old.
It also provides an Out of Hours School Club for children aged between four and 12-years-old.
