New tenant expected for Strabane Business Park

A THIRD tenant could soon be setting up a base in Strabane Business Park on the Melmount Road, it has been revealed.

Although the identity of this company is yet to be unveiled, this newspaper understands that it is a business currently based in Donegal.

To date, two companies have already made the park their home – Honed Flavours (formerly Dragon Brand) in 2017 and latterly, the KES Group in 2018.

This week, Economy Minister, Diane Dodds said a third company had expressed an interest in establishing a base in Strabane.

According to Invest NI, the identity of that company would be released at “the appropriate time.”

“I fully welcome the fact that businesses are interested in locating in Strabane Business Park,” West Tyrone MLA, Daniel McCrossan said. “For some time, I have been engaging and assisting at least three businesses who are interested in investing at the site and with others who have exciting plans to expand. This is very positive for potential job creation for this area.

“Given the current pandemic and the associated impact it has had on our local economy, it’s important that all avenues are explored to assist job creation locally. That includes the Strabane Business Park which should be used to assist and help any new business or existing business in the wider area.

“The developments around Strabane Business Park are therefore welcomed and I hope to be in a position in the coming weeks to announce another massive piece of investment locally which will create many jobs locally. Job creation for this area is a solid focus of my work as MLA.”
