Police are appealing for information following the report of an assault on a man in Cookstown on the evening of Monday November 1.
Sergeant McCartan said: “We received a report that a man had been assaulted at the junction of Killymoon and Lomand Heights at approximately 5pm.
“The man had been driving in the area, and believed he was followed by another car.
“When stopped, the driver of the second vehicle approached him and a verbal altercation ensued. This ended with the victim being dragged from his car and beaten. He sustained a cut lip and was, understandably, left badly shaken.
“A 26-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of common assault, was since released on bail pending further enquiries.
“It’s two weeks on, and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area, or who may have captured dash cam footage, to contact us on 101. Please quote reference number 1814 of 01/11/21.”
