Police charge man with the theft of a mobility scooter

Police have charged a 22-year-old man with theft, dangerous driving, criminal damage and using a mobile phone whilst driving.

The charges relate to the theft of a mobility scooter from the Ballygawley area on Sunday October, 24.

The scooter was destroyed by being dragged along the road behind a 4×4 vehicle.

the police have said, “This was a particularly unpleasant act which deprived a vulnerable person of their mode of transport.”

The man is due to appear before Dungannon Magistrates Court on Wednesday 8th December.

As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
