Sacred Heart College prepares for 1st virtual open day

AN Omagh school that has a forward thinking, innovative and creative learning community is launching its first-ever virtual open day later this month.

Acting principal of Sacred Heart College, Celia McGinn, and her staff are looking forward to showing prospective students what life is like at the school from Friday, January 22. Mrs McGinn said, “As a non-selective, co-educational college, we treat all our students as individuals with skills, talents and aptitudes that make each young person unique.

“We seek to ensure that all our pupils fulfil their potential in Sacred Heart College. Our college curriculum is designed to stretch our gifted and talented pupils while supporting pupils in areas where they are challenged.

Our teaching staff are dedicated and work hard to meet the needs of all pupils.” The acting principal said the school was proud of its “outstanding” Pastoral Care.

Mrs McGinn said, “We have a very efficient and caring team of Form Teachers, Year Heads and Heads of Key Stage who make sure that all our pupils are known, cherished and have their needs catered for.

“On leaving Sacred Heart College, our pupils meet their aspirations and compete at the highest levels in all career areas; vocational, apprenticeships, at third level and in the world of work.

“As we move towards the Shared Education campus at Strule we are listening attentively to the voices of our students; empowering them to make the changes necessary and to equip them with the skills and attributes to take them on to the next stage of their lives.”
