Summer schemes for young people are to be held at three separate locations in Omagh during July and August.
Councillors this week agreed a recommendation that the schemes will take place at the three community centres in the town – the Hospital Road, Strathroy and CKS.
The decision was taken at a meeting of its Regeneration and Community meeting on Tuesday night.
Each scheme will last for four weeks and there will be both morning and afternoon sessions in order to accommodate as many participants as possible.
In addition, the Strule Arts Centre will be the venue for a programme of activities aimed at teenagers, and focusing on topics such as drama, photography, history and heritage.
Also in the pipeline is a family focused slow cooker initiative. where participants will be provided with a slow cooker and ingredients to the value of £25 to enable them to participate.
The council also intends to allocate 30 per-cent of the places to families and children deemed to be in need.
Omagh town Sinn Fein councillor, Anne Marie Fitzgerald, (pictured right) said it was vital that, as society recovers from the coronavirus pandemic, that summer schemes and other activities for young people are rolled out.
