Vandals attack Twelfth field decorations in Castlecaulfield

Union flags were ripped down during a vandalism attack at the Twelfth field in Castlecaulfield.

The damage was caused as the south Tyrone village prepares to host a major march on Tuesday with hundreds of Orange men taking part.

DUP councillor Clement Cuthbertson expressed his anger, describing it as a “hate motivated attack on Protestant / Unionist Culture yet again”.

“Tonight (Sunday) at approximately 9.30pm decorations at the Assembly Field in Castlecaulfield have been ripped down,” said Cllr Cuthbertson.
“This disgraceful behaviour will not deter the Brethren and their families from having a Glorious 12th Demonstration in the Village on Tuesday.
“This Cause we shall maintain.”
