A DARING zipline challenge – which will see participants enjoying stunning panoramic views of Tyrone’s lush valleys… while hanging 50 metres above the ground! – will take place next month to raise funds for an Omagh-based charity.
Encouraging all of Omagh’s daredevils to get involved, the event is being organised by ‘Support 2gether’ – a charity who are there for local parents suffering from ante-natal and post-natal depression – to raise funds for vital counselling and couple support services.
Set to take place on Saturday, August 28 at Todd’s Leap Activity Centre, Ballygawley, at its peak, the zipline hangs a gruelling 50 metres above the ground, and it is a staggering 500 metres in length – making it the North’s longest zipline.
Una Leonard, who established the charity alongside her sister 10 years ago, hopes that the ‘adventurous fundraiser’ will be well-supported.
“It will be a truly sensational experience!” said Una. “Propelled by gravity, you will get to enjoy panoramic views from a bird’s eye perspective, as you launch yourself over the valley and sail through the skies!
“To be part of this adventurous fundraiser, we are asking participants for a £20 deposit to secure your place and cover fees involved.
“Then, any sponsorship money you raise will go directly to providing support to families suffering with perinatal mental health issues in our local community.”
